A tragic event in his youth triggered his mutation, leading to the revelation that his biological father was Thomas Logan, the foreman of his family’s estate. After a confrontation that ended in death, James fled and adopted the name Logan.

In modern times, Logan volunteered for an experimental procedure where his bones and claws were coated with the nearly indestructible metal Adamantium. Though he died during the process, he was resurrected and escaped before his memories could be erased. Adopting the codename Wolverine, Logan became one of the X-Men’s most formidable members after a series of events that included saving the young mutant Rogue and joining forces with the X-Men.
