Product Description:
Introducing the most fierce and intense member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a stunning new statue by Iron Studios!
This detailed collectible captures Raphael, the hot-headed hero of the sewers, as he appears in his home beneath New York City. With his iconic greenish-yellow skin, brown eyes, and red bandana, Raphael stands ready for battle, armed with his signature Japanese Sai daggers. His expression perfectly reflects his strong, explosive temperament—loyal to his family, yet rebellious and cynical.
Inspired by the acclaimed 1990 classic film, this statue, "Raphael - TMNT Movie - Art Scale 1/10," brings to life the beloved character in his mature, yet still volatile, form. As the anti-hero of the group, Raphael's emotional extremes, tumultuous relationship with his older brother Leonardo, and his name inspired by the Italian Renaissance artist Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino are all faithfully represented.
Born from the creative minds of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) have become a global phenomenon since their comic book debut in the 1980s, leading to an expansive multimedia franchise adored by fans worldwide. These four young mutant turtles, transformed by a mysterious substance called Mutagen or Ooze, find guidance in their master Splinter, an anthropomorphic rat who named them after famous Italian Renaissance artists.
In the sewers of New York City, their hidden base, they prepare for night-time missions to protect the city from their arch-nemesis, Shredder, leader of the Foot Clan. The 1990 independent film *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles*, directed by Steve Barron, introduced audiences to the origin of Splinter and the Turtles, their first encounters with reporter April O'Neil and vigilante Casey Jones, and their initial showdown with Shredder. Raphael, portrayed by Josh Pais—the only actor to both physically perform and voice a Turtle in the film—stands out in this live-action adaptation. With a screenplay rooted in the original comics and the 1987 animated series, the film became the highest-grossing independent film of its time and sparked a trilogy that included *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze* (1991) and *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III* (1993). The Turtles' costumes were masterfully crafted by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, the renowned visual effects company founded by Jim Henson, the creator of *The Muppets*.
